PORT INFORMATION:

Kemaman Port Authority was established on November 1,1991 managed by the Kuantan Port Authority. The Port which begun operations in 1982, was previously known as Tanjong Berhala Port.

 
BERTHING FACILITY:

Kemaman Port authority comprise of five terminal operated by four different operators.

PORT LIMITS:

Port limits include those areas from a point on the coast at

a. East : Lat 4( 16(.4 N Long 103( 28(.8 E

b. South : Lat 4( 16(.4 N Long 103( 34(.0 E

c. West : Lat 4( 08(.0 N Long 103( 34(.0 E

  
PILOTAGE:

Frequency : Ch 16 or 11

Procedure :

i. Pilotage is compulsory and is available H24.

ii. Vessels should send ETA at least 24h in advance and confirm at least 2 hour

   before arrival to Port Control on VHF Ch 16 or 11.

iii. Pilot boards in the following positions:

  (a) For deep draft vessels is within the vicinity of Kemaman Fairway Buoy at

      Lat 4( 11(N Long 103( 31( E.

  (b) For shallow draft vessels (less than 6 metres) this is within 1.6 km of beacon

      No.1 at Lat 4( 11( N Long 103(30(.

iv. Confirmation of pilot must be made at least 3 hours before vessels arrival/

    departure.

v. Booking of pilot is to be made through the port office or Kemaman's Port Control. 

  
NAVIGATIONAL APPROACH:

The entrance to Kemaman is situated close W of Tanjung Mat Amin (Lat 04( 14( N, Long 103( 27( E). The Kemaman Port has 5 terminals namely East wharf, Kemaman Supply Base, Export Terminal, Liquid Chemical Berth and West whaft.These terminals are sheltered by breakwaters of 525 metres in the East and 1,525 metres in the south. Approach to the various operational areas is through a channel approximately 3 km long and a minimum width of 250 metres, with a depth of 18 metres. The channel is marked with lighted beacons 1-5 and guided by two on

land transit markers.
