K Line Upgrades China Straits Gulf Service

Japan-based Kawasaki Kisen Kaisha Ltd (K Line) plans to upgrade and revamp the current fixed day weekly China Straits Gulf Service (CSG) linking Port Klang effective end of June.

Kawasaki Kisen Kaisha, Ltd’s Takafumi Kido said the new CSG service is jointly operated with Pacific International Line of Singapore.

The service he said would increase the service frequencies and meet the needs of the market.

The numbers and sizes of deployed vessels will be upsized from current 6 x 1200 TEU to 5 x 2000 TEU types to improve the current transit time to Middle East.

The new upgraded and revamped CSG connects Shanghai – Ningbo – Xiamen – Singapore – Port Klang – Jebel Ali – Bandar Abbas – Karachi – Singapore – Laem Chabang – Hong Kong – Shanghai.

On the other hand the MEX service links Qingdao – Shanghai – Kaohsiung – Hong Kong – Singapore – Port Rashid – Damman – Mundra – Port Klang – Singapore – Pasir Gudang – Kuantan – Hong Kong – Qingdao
