Call for nominations for transport industry awards

More than 1,000 practitioners from the transport and logistics services in the country are expected to attend the Transport Industry Awards Nite 2005.

The industry fixture event will witness the presentation of Transport Industry Awards for four categories – Transport Company of Excellence, Transport Personality of the Year, Media Excellence Award and Young Achiever Award.

Several nominations have already been received for the various awards that will be judged by a panel of judges that will meet after the nominations close 2 November 2005.

GPS Tech Solutions Sdn Bhd has become the first sponsor of one of the Transport Industry Awards that will be presented at the Transport Industry Awards Nite 2005 to be held 25 November 2005 in Kuala Lumpur.

The Minister of Transport, Dato Sri’ Chan Kong Choy has confirmed his attendance at the event that is organized by the Chartered Institute of Logistics and Transport (Malaysia).

In endorsing the efforts of the CILTM in organizing the Transport Industry Awards Nite 2005, Tan Sri Datuk Tan Kok Pin of the GPSTech Solutions, said his company was committed to enhancing the public perception of the industry.

“We believe the awards initiated by the CILTM will contribute towards enhancing the competitiveness of the economy by emphasizing on achieving greater efficiency and productivity,” he said.

Meanwhile, the President of the CILTM Encik Abdul Radzak Abdul Malek said nominations for the awards are open and urged companies and industry practitioners to make their nominations.
