P&O Nedlloyd online reach to shippers

As part of a marketing programme to widen its market outreach in Malaysia, P&O Nedlloyd, one of the world’s largest liner operators, is now providing on-line information on its wide range of global services over the Internet via Malaysia’s national maritime portal, www.portsworld.com

Importers and exporters in Malaysia can gain immediate access to the shipping line’s web-site (www.ponl.com) which offers useful information on its spread of global shipping services, port coverage in Malaysia, including transit ports, vessel/container tracking and on line registration of bill of lading.

The managing director of P&O Nedlloyd M A Sdn Bhd, Mr Patrick Lim Keng Lee said the shipping line is committed to promoting e-commerce through the Internet.

“The link we have established with www.portsworld.com is one of the applications that we employ to reach our shippers in an efficient and effective manner and further strengthen our market presence in Malaysia,” he said.

P&O Nedlloyd, which links Port Klang directly with several ports worldwide, is a market leader in Malaysia.

Patrick Lim said the national maritime portal is a well-accessed site and thus provides effecticve a platform for the company to reach out in its marketing efforts as well as to service its shippers efficiently.

The company offers an extensive range of value-added services on-line.

The national maritime portal – www.portsworld.com - was officially launched by the Deputy Transport Minister Tan Sri Datuk Seri DiRaja Ramli Ngah Talib in August.
