The Malaysian Shipowners
Association will be celebrating the 30th year of
its founding with a gala dinner on 1 December to
be attended by about 1,000 members of the
association and industry practitioners.
The association, founded in 1976, has been led
by seven chairman over the three decades,
beginning with Datuk Suleiman Abdullah till the
present chairman, Ir Nordin Mat Yusoff.
MASA which has a total membership of 164
companies engaged in shipowning and related
maritime activities, saw its fastest growth when
it was led by the late Datuk Hj Mohd Ali Yasin
who presided over one of the most active phases
in the growth of the national association of
shipowners.
With the day-to-day management of the
Association directed by its executive secretary,
Capt Hasnan Anuar, MASA has been at the
forefront in highlighting numerous issues
affecting the shipping industry and shipowners
in the country. |
