The
Selangor Royal Malaysian Custom
& Excise Department has been
awarded the Kumpulan Meningkat
Mutu Kerja (KMK) Award for 2001
for innovative project on
"Delay for personal effect
release".
The
award was presented by the
Selangor Menteri Besar, Dato' Seri
Dr Mohammad Khir Toyo to Customs
Director, Datuk Hj Wazir b.Muaz.
The
Award is aimed at enhancing
quality at workplace was jointly
organised by Mampu and Intan.
Customs
Selangor has introduced skim
Golden Form (SKIM GOLF) to ensure
smooth flow of Personal Effects
documents clearance.
The
new system which was implemented
in less than seven months has
speeded up the clearance of import
(personal effects) at our
premisses.
Relevant
documents will be cleared in less
than three hours as against the
previous documents flow requires
eight hours. This eventually
allows the port to clear customers
belongging within the same day as
against two days in the previous
practice said Wazir.
"The
Selangor Customs has been
continuously introducing or
eliminating various inefficient
activities to facilitate smoother
trade. This particular project has
tremendously reduced operational
cost. For instance the smooth and
faster clearance has saved
unnecessary rental charges for
storage, overtime and other cost
due to the slower clearance,"
said Wazir.
