The Handbook of Maritime Economics and Business contains 39 reference chapters which are primarily based on research carried out over a number of years, covering 11 broad areas of maritime economics.

Areas covered include maritime economics and globalisation, international seaborne trade, economics of shipping markets & cycles issues in liner shipping, maritime safety and labour markets, aspects of shipping management, port economics and management and aspects of international logistics.

Edited by Costas Th. Grammenos, contributors include academics from 30 different countries, including from Malaysia, Dr Rawindaran Nair, who co-authored with Bernard Gardner and Peter Marlow of University of Wales, Cardiff a chapter on The Economic Regulation of Liner Shipping" The Impact of US and EU Regulation in US Trades."
