The
study on double tracking the rail
line between Padang Besar at
Malaysia-Thai border and Johor Baru
at Malaysia-Singapore border is
expected to be submitted to the
government soon.
AGN
Research Associates Sdn Bhd (AGN),
which provides research and
consultancy services in the field of
transport, infrastructure and
general economic studies has already
completed the economic feasibility
while the technical and engineering
component of the study is being
carried out by KL Consult Sdn Bhd.
AGN,
which was recently picked recently
to carried out an integrated
transportation study for Putrajaya,
said the preliminary engineering and
route alignment study for the two
double tracking railway projects
consists of two components, namely,
Seremban-Johor Bahru-Tanjung Pagar
sector and Ipoh-Pahang Besar sector.
According
to the principal managing partner,
Azman Mohd Aris, AGN provides
research and consultancy services in
the whole range of activities
involved in land, sea and air
transport and its various
sub-sectors such as
containerization, logistics,
warehousing, haulage and containers
ferry services.
Azman
said the company has also secured
studies for a proposed ferry project
in Labuan and is in the process of
bidding for an overseas port study
project.
AGN,
with its principal partner Professor
G Naidu, an Oxford-trained transport
economist, also provides consultancy
services in economic and financial
studies.
“AGN
employs a team of specialists having
probably the longest experience and
the highest level of skills in the
conduct of field studies and
research. Additionally, a number of
these specialists have had extensive
experience in managing large
corporations in the economic and
transport sectors,” said Azman,
who was the former chief operating
officer of Johor Port Bhd.
AGN
was last year engaged by the
Ministry of Transport as
local consultant for the
implementation blueprint for the
Malaysian Port Commission and
Strategy and Role Definition for PTP
and Related Infrastructure.
