A
regular networking cocktail for
the maritime industry will be
launched in Klang on 16 October
2001 to serve as a regular
discussion forum on developments
and issues affecting the maritime
industry in Malaysia.
The
networking meeting, which will be
officiated by the Director-General
of Maritime Institute of Malaysia
(MIMA) Datuk Cheah Kong Wai, will
also offer an opportunity to the
practitioners in the industry to
initiate business opportunities
and prospects.
The
networking cocktail will be held
every last Friday of each month
(except on public holidays).
The
event is organized by Trend Intan
Development Sdn Bhd at its latest
landmark office complex in Klang
known as Intan Millennium Square (IMS)
which is poised to emerge as a
maritime center in the hub of Port
Klang.
According
to the managing director of the
company, Ng Kong Ling the
16-storey twin-tower IMS complex,
which has attracted leading names
in the maritime industry, aims to
become a maritime square or
“hub” by offering premium
office space for maritime
transport companies.
“IMS,
which offers the most intelligent
office environment in North Klang
Valley with facilities and
services such as conference/board
rooms, business secretariat,
F&B, is an ideal address for
maritime transport companies
particularly in the light of the
emergence of Port Klang as world
class port,” he said.
“We
have no doubt that with the
proposed networking cocktail, IMS
offers itself as a center for
meeting of minds in the maritime
sector,” he added.
Participation
is by invitation. Anyone from the
maritime transportation industry
keen to join the cocktail may
