Singapore is to require owners of single hulled tankers of 5,000-dwt and
above to give advanced notice of their arrival under new regulations that
came into force Monday.
Any single-hulled tanker of 5,000-dwt and above must inform the port master
at least 24 hours prior to arrival, Singapore's Maritime and Port Authority
(MPA) said.
The ruling comes into force the day before Regulation 13H of Marpol Annex I,
which bans the carriage of heavy fuel oil in single hulled tankers. |
