International Shipping Corporation
(MISC) and Orient Overseas
Container Line (OOCL) have
announced a cooperation to
introduce a new coordinated
service between ports in Europe.
In
this new service which is to be
known as Iberia Scan Express (ISX)
Service, MISC will provide two
vessels of 736 teu each, whilst
OOCL will contribute one vessel
with carrying capacity of 600 teu.
As part of the cooperation, MISC
and OOCL will exchange slots on
the three vessels.
The
ISX will commence its first
Northbound sailing from Lisbon on
2 September 2001. Subsequently,
the first Southbound sailing is
expected to depart Gdansk on 5
September 2001.
MISC's
vessels, "Bunga Mas 9"
and "Bunga Mas 10"
together with OOCL's vessel "OOCL
Narva" will offer customers a
fixed-day weekly sailing between
various ports in Europe.
The
ports of rotation are: Gdansk -
Gothenburg - Aarhus - Hamburg -
Rotterdam - Southampton - Le
Verdon (Bordeaux) - Bilbao -
Leixoes/Oporto - Lisbon - Bilbao -
Le Verdon (Bordeaux) - Southampton
- Antwerp - Hamburg - Gdansk.
Under the terms of the
cooperation, MISC will also have
slots on OOCL's existing Scan
Baltic Express (SBX) service.
This
service has deployed two vessels
of 860 teu each, "OOCL
Neva" and "OOCL Nevskiy"
with the following rotation:
Antwerp - Thamesport - Hamburg -
Gdansk - Hamina - St Petersburg -
Riga - Hamburg - Antwerp.
