Hyundai
Merchant Marine, is confident of
increasing its share of liner
market in Malaysia in the Asia
Europe service.
The
line’s first vessel under the
New Grand Alliance’s Asia-Europe
service, Hyundai Fortune, made her
maiden voyage on June 12 at
Northport, Port Klang.
The
port rotation of the new service
covers Kwangyang, Pusan, Hakata,
Kaohsuing, Hong Kong, Singapore,
Port Klang, Le Havre, Rotterdam,
Hamburg, Southampton and sailed
back to North Asia.
“Prior
to this service we expanded our
Bombay service to Penang. The
other members of the expanded
service are Mistui OSK Lines,
Samudera Shipping Lines, Advanced
Container Lines,” said the
managing director of Hyundai
Merchant Marine, Brian Kim.
Kim
said Hyundai also inaugurated KMS
service from Northport early this
year with six carriers in the
range of 2,200 TEUs.
“We
may also bring the China Express
Service and the Japan Express
Service to Port Klang if there is
a good demand,” added Kim.
