Marine
insurers in Malaysia will have an
opportunity to participate in an
interactive seminar on marine
insurance that will discuss the
latest developments in hull and
machinery insurance, cargo claims
and trends affecting role and
responsibilities of the Protection
& Indemnity Clubs.
The
seminar, which will be followed by
workshop will be held in Kuala
Lumpur on 20 September and will
cover topics for update from the
legal and marine operational
perspectives will include, in
addition to the above, “brokers,
in law”; “utmost good faith”
and the handling of major
accidents and incidents resulting
in claims and counter-claims.
The
full day session will be led by
prominent international shipping
lawyer, Dato’ Jude Benny, who
has acted in several high-profile
maritime case.
One
of his most famous cases was the
action he brought for the Cousteau
Foundation against a Singapore
shipyard that sank the fabled
French ocean-explorer, The
Calypso, captained by the legendry
Jacques Cousteau..
