World container port traffic continued to expand at a rate of 9.2 of
container ship ownership, 45. 7 per cent of container ship operation, 64 per
cent of seamen, 62 per cent of container port throughput, 64 per cent of
container port operation 84 per cent of container shipbuilding and 99 per
cent of ship demolition.
World container port traffic continued to expand at a rate of 9.2 cent in
2003 over 2002, reaching 266.3 million TEUs.
Ports in developing countries and territories handled 103.6 million TEUs or
38.9 per cent of the world total.
In 2003, the top 20 world container ports handled 144.9 million TEUs.
