Asian shipping lines will meet in
Busan, Korea 28-29 May to discuss wide ranging
issues affecting the industry.
The 16th Asian Shipowners Forum, which will be
attended by the Malaysian Shipowners Association
along with members of Federation of Asean
Shipowners Association, is expected to review
the performance and status of the shipping
industry, including the impact of recent
capacity on the shipping market.
Several other issues relating to standards,
safety, security as well as related matters on
environmental pollution of the seas, supply of
seafarers are expected to feature in the agenda
of the CEOs from several shipping companies in
Asia.
The meeting will take a look at the status
reports submitted by various sub-committees such
as safe navigation and environment, shipping
economics review, ship insurance and liability
and also on ship recycling.
