On
June 11th 2009 a Memorandum of Understanding
will be signed between MOGSC, Malaysian Oil &
Gas Services Council and IRO, Association of
Dutch Suppliers in the Oil and Gas Industry.
The MOU will be signed at The Malaysian
Petroleum Club in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia at a
Cocktail reception at the occasion of the Dutch
participation in the OGA 2009 exhibition. Time
18.30 – 20.30 hrs.
MOGSC and IRO agree to establish a strategic
relationship of business cooperation between the
Dutch and Malaysian service providers in the oil
and gas industry in the following fields:
- Business Development
- Innovation and Technology
- Human Resources
- Health, Safety and Environment
Activities to be undertaken include the Exchange
of Information, Seminars, Dialogues, Trade
Missions, Matchmaking and Networking Events.
The MOU will be signed by Mr. Sofiyan Yahya,
President MOGSC and Mr. Hans P. de Boer,
Managing Director IRO.
The Malaysian Oil & Gas Services Council or
MOGSC was formed on 1st December, 2003. It was
established to promote the interests of the
Malaysian oil & gas service providers and make
Malaysia a principal player for products,
services, support and resources for the global
oil & gas industry. MOGSC contributes in the
development of the Malaysian oil & gas industry
by working positively and collaborate with
PETRONAS, government, oil & gas players,
industry players and other industry
stakeholders. With a growing membership
portfolio and the most active association in the
Malaysian oil & gas industry today, MOGSC
represents the largest grouping of Malaysian oil
& gas service providers.
Since its foundation in 1971 IRO promotes the
interests of the Dutch supply and service
companies in the upstream oil and gas industry.
Members cover all activities involved in the
supply industry, such as engineering, field
development, pipeline installation, maintenance,
manufacturing and material & equipment supply,
onshore as well as offshore.
IRO represents the interests of its 350 member
companies towards the government and prospective
customers, facilitates export promotion and
subsidies for innovative technology. IRO offers
member companies a vast national and
international network.
More recently Employment & Education has become
a spearhead of the association.
