Feyecon Carbon Dioxide Technologies and Malaysian Biotechnology Corporation sign technology acquisition agreement

FeyeCon Carbon Dioxide Technologies today entered into a technology acquisition agreement with the Malaysian Biotechnology Corporation (BiotechCorp).

The agreement, worth several million Euros, outlines the transfer of FeyeCon developed industrial biotechnology to BiotechCorp. The technology focuses on natural product production and development. The world market for natural products is currently valued at US$ 80 billion, with Malaysia moving to become a key player in the market.

“The natural product industry is set to become another important source of revenue generation for the country [Malaysia],” asserts Dato Iskandar Mizal Mahmood, CEO of BiotechCorp.

FeyeCon, a medium sized Dutch technology development company, has been involved with natural product research for the past 10 years. The deal with BiotechCorp represents a major step in rolling out carbon dioxide technology in Asia.

FeyeCon uses carbon dioxide to develop novel products and processes which have applications in a variety of industrial fields. Last year FeyeCon established FeyeCon Asia Sdn Bhd in Kuala Lumpur to address Asia’s increasing interest in FeyeCon’s various food and pharmaceutical production and product technologies. “After our launching customer on May 6th this year, this marks a quantum leap in the Asia technology role out”, says Toine Paijens Director of FeyeCon Asia Sdn Bhd.

Dr. Geert Woerlee, CEO of FeyeCon explains: “Whilst many small and medium sized companies are struggling under currently unfavorable economic conditions, Asia has demonstrated itself to be an interesting outlet for European technology. We look forward to future collaboration between the two continents.”
