Academic Programmes

To meet this demand for specific and growing need for the new genre human capital development in the transport and logistic industry, PortsWorld and Institute of Professional Development - Open University Malaysia have developed jointly academic and professional competency programmes.

The integrated transport management and operations academic programme by IPD-OUM can be pursued at two levels. The programme structure is based on candidates experience in the transport sector and logistics. 

Programme Objectives

The objectives of Career Certificate and Professional Diploma are to:-

• Gain an understanding of the structural changes taking place in the transport and logistics sector

• Gain an insight into the changing functionalities of transport and service sector

• Gain greater confidence as logistics and transport industry practitioners and make a greater contribution to organisational effectiveness in employment and to the industry

• Establish a sound framework of knowledge and competencies in transport and logistics industry process

• Understand present and future roles of the transport and logistics services industry practitioners in strategy formulation, implementation and evaluation

• Becomes business partners with management team in organisations with primary agenda of contribution to the organisation effectiveness, responsiveness and flexibility.
