PORT INFORMATION:

Johor Port Authority is the regulatory body for Johor Port Sdn Bhd,

which took over all port facilities and services in January 1993. The port was fully privatised in August 1995 to Seaport Terminal (Johore) Sdn Bhd which became the holding company of Johor Port Bhd.

LOCATION: Lat 01( 26'. 06 N) Long 103( 54'.25 E)

PORT LIMITS:

Include all that area of water enclosed

i. On the west by a line drawn due South from Tanjong Bin

(1( 20' N, 103( 32'.02 E)

ii. On the north by the southern shores of the state of Johor

iii. On the east by the limits of a line drawn 229 from Tanjong Siapa

(1( 20'. 6 N, 140( 08'. 02 E)

iv. On the south by the limits of territorial waters of Johor

PILOTAGE:

Frequency : Ch 11; 11 21 63

Procedure:

i. Pilotage is compulsory for vessels over 45m LOA (or over 30m in

height) and is available 24 hours .Pilotage exemption may be

granted to vessels over 45m LOA by application to the Marine

Manager.

ii. Vessels should send ETA 24 hours before arrival or departure to

Johor Port Control.

iii. Pilot boards 2 n miles sw of Tanjung Setapa

Lt (1( 20'.6N 104( 08'.2 E) .

NAVIGATIONAL APPROACH:

Fairway : There is no limitation imposed on size of vessels passing through the fairway except the draft. The main channel in the East Johore Straits has a depth of water up to approximately 12.5m.ACD up to the port waterfront and 1.6m ACD for area beyond up to the cause-way.

ANCHORAGE:

Anchorage areas have been designated within the port water limits and as indicated in all navigational charts for the following:

a) General purposes

b) Dangerous goods and explosives

c) Quarantine

d) Petroleum

e) Lay-up

FRESH WATER

The port has a fresh water capacity of 1.9 million litres. Water supply to ships is through hydrants on the wharves and on the breasting island of the oil jetty.
