Klang
Container
Terminal
Bhd (KCT)
was
incorporated
in
1985
and
issued
a
21-year
licence
to
lease
and
operate
the
container
terminal
facilities
in
North
Port.
The
company has renamed as Northport
(Malaysia) Bhd.
South
ports
and
the
remaining
facilities
in
North
Port
(after
the privatisation
of
container
terminal
to
Klang
Container
Terminal
in
1986)
and
the
dockyard
were
privatised
to
Kelang
Port
Management
Sdn
Bhd
in
1992.
The
company,
as
the
second
private
port
operator
in
Port
Klang,
managing
over
21
berths
including
a
five
berth
container
terminal.
With
the
recent
equity
restructuring
exercise
carried-out
by
the
shareholder,
KPM
become
wholly
owned
subsidiary
of Northport (Malaysia) Bhd, (formerly
known as KCT) .

pilot
and
towing
services
within
Northport
and
Southport
area
in
Port
Klang
waters.
Pilotage
is
compulsory
and
available
24
hours.
