Northport Corporation Bhd, changed its name to NCB Holdings Bhd and its subsidiaries – Northport (Malaysia) Bhd (formerly known as Klang Container Terminal Bhd) and Kontena Nasional Bhd. Following the successful integration and merger of Northport (Malaysia) Bhd (NMB) and Kelang Port Management Sdn Bhd's operational activities under the flagship of Northport, all employees of KPM were absorbed into NMB. All moveable assets of KPM have been transferred to NMB and a management contract concluded between the two companies as the manager of the activities on behalf of KPM license holder effective 1 January 2002. As a single service provider NMB interacts better and stronger with the market that was served previously by two separate companies.
