KPCT Wins COSCO Service

Coscon (Cosco Container Lines) has expanded its network to the China market by signing a slot sharing deal with the Pacific International Lines of Singapore. The first vessel under this joint service will call Klang Port Container Terminal on June 20, 2000.

"This will enlarge our service cooperation and port coverage in China. The North China Service covers four main ports in China namely Dalian, Xingang, Yantian and Qingdao. The service will be using four ship in the range of 1,400 TEU," said Tong the marketing manager of Coslink, Tong Eng. Coslink is the local agent for Coscon of China.

In addition to the slot sharing arrangement with PIL, Coscon has a direct weekly sailing to China/Gulf every Tuesday. The Gulf Service with port rotations from Port Klang-Singapore-Hong Kong-Xingang, Shanghai, Hong Kong-Singapore-Dubai-Jebel Ali-Damman-Karachi and Colombo.
