Port Focuses on Manpower Training and Re-training

Kuantan Port Consortium is giving greater emphasis in ensuring that the port's manpower requirements meet the needs and demands brought about largely by the changing pattern in the trade and application of new technologies.

Port expansion on Ahead of schedule

The excavation work on the development of the inner harbour at Kuantan Port is progressing well and is projected to be completed six months ahead of schedule.

Kuantan Port looks set to play a bigger role as an important seaport to cater for the increasing number of investments in the state of Pahang.

Pipeline Ready

Kuantan Terminals Sdn Bhd, the wholly owned subsidiary of Petronas, has completed installation work on common pipe-rack and tank farm facilities. The eight km pipeline links Gebeng Industrial area to shippers premises direct with the 250,000 sq metre central tankage facilities located near Kuantan Port.

Centralised Utility Facility Completed

The Centralised Utility Facitility (CUF) in Gebeng Industrial area, which operates independently of the national grid, is ready to exploit its commercial viability.

Tank Containers - A New Source of Traffic

The commissioning of the petrochemical plant by BASF Petronas Chemicals Sdn Bhd (BPC) at the Gebeng Industrial area has opened new possibilities for the movement of ISO Tank Containers in a big way via Kuantan Port.

Petronas Kuantan-Kerteh Rail Link

The development of a critical rail link to Kuantan Port has taken a step further. Qualified contractors have been invited to submit their bids for third package under the dedicated rail link between Kerteh and Kuantan Port.
